Well, yeah. You can make fun out of it in many ways... I just hope, nobody took a picture of it when they've been taking it down. That would have been even more depressing. Makes me kind of sad to see the man reduced to inflated rubber(ish).

Monty Python and the Holy Grail was mostly shot on location in Scotland, particularly around Doune Castle, Glen Coe, and the privately owned Castle Stalker. The many castles seen throughout the film were mainly either Doune Castle shot from different angles or hanging miniatures.

2022

Free people of the fediverse!

How do you listen to music? I used to listen to Spotify, but it’s bad. No artist can live from streaming-royalties. And if you can listen to everything, you don’t pay attention to anything. Now, i’m listening to internet-radios (byte.fm etc.). What are your music-habitudes? Any ideas for fair services?

Try starting it from the command line, you should see the error message. It's possibly a linked library version mismatch.

Radio! The hardware thing. But seldom. Otherwise CDs. Either the Hardware as well or the ripped copies that are stored on the NAS (Synology Audio Station, I believe this is streaming)

Yea, sitting in my little 'owned music' bubble. Never got into that "streaming from the internet" mindset.

Sorry, I'm not a command-line user. Don't know anything about it.

Hambourg is definitely nuts. They will build a so called "Elbtower". 235 meters high, 700 million euros.
In the land surveying office, they already have a mockup.

They fucking just finished a far to expensive prestige-project (the Elbphilharmonie). Can't they use the money instead for small useful projects? Reduced costs for studying, cheaper flat for people with small income, support for homeless people, ... - Hamburg has enough problems without them blowing money into look-how-big-my-phallus-is-projects!

Sometimes,
On mild spring-mornings,
When the birds start to sing,
I meditate upon the different protocols
Which bring all those posts in my timeline:
From ActivityPub to Zot.
And when the sun licks the dew out of blue roses,
I secretly celebrate the immensity of the Fediverse.

I'm on Debian Stretch. At the moment, I’m hesitating to install an AppImage of the note-taking-application „Joplin". AppImages seem to be not very secure because of library-issues. But I need so much a good note-taking tool which runs on Linux, Android and Nextcloud. So, if anybody has a good suggestion, that would be nice.

At least they ditched Unity. But yeah, I switched distro years ago because of things like this.

The last time I went away for a few weeks (to Japan) I did turn it off. Thinking I wouldn't have any use for it. I felt sorry however for there were times I wanted to log some details with pictures about the trip in Hubzilla. Like a diary. So, I think I will keep it on next time. It's a Raspberry Pi, so it doesn't use to much power (I think)...

Have got on my homeserver different stuff runnin. Something like "FHEM" (kind of houseautomation https://fhem.de/ ). Regulates the temp and light for the geckos ( need 35 grade Celsius in terrarium ) and also heating in the house (when we're on vacation it cools down, on arrival it powers heating up automatically). So this server runs 24/7/365.
